NOA REGATTA 2022
The most glamorous NOA regatta organized so far by the Alexandroupoli Nautical Club has ended! After a two-year absence due to the covid pandemic, the event made an impressive return with the participation of 180 athletes from five countries. The sportsmen and women competed and competed in the waters of the Thracian Sea from July 12 to 16, while from 10-12/7 a training camp for the optimists preceded it. 118 athletes participated in the optimist category, 42 athletes in the ILCA 4 category, 8 athletes in the ILCA6 category, 4 athletes in the ILCA7 category and 8 athletes in the HANSA303 Disability category for the first time. Notable was the very high level of athletes as ΝΟΑ had the honor to host the National teams of the optimist pan-European and global and the National team of ILCA4 together with their coaches Antonis Drosopoulos and Charis Ganiastas.
Athletes from Cyprus, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania took part in the regatta outside of Greece. Regatta were held under the auspices of the Hellenic Sailing Federation with the assistance of the Municipality of Alexandroupoli, included in the Nautical Week events, the Port Organization of Alexandroupoli and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Alexandroupolis.

Thank you to the chairman of the race committee, Giannis Paulidis, and to the chairman of the competition committee, Kostas Tsantiles, for the perfect organization. Also, warm thanks to the president of the Disability committee of Hellenic Sailing Federation and Vasilis Christoforou as well as the member of the Disability committee and Katerina Gouleliou who essentially supported the project of the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki for sending the Disability team with the coach Nikos Benaxidis and the Heraklion Sailing Club for the participation in the race.
